Terms and Conditions

DEFINITIONS

In these terms and conditions, the following words shall have the following meaning: The COMPANY shall mean Britannia Direct.  The CUSTOMER shall mean the corporate identity, firm or person seeking to buy goods from the COMPANY.

 

TERMS OF DELIVERY

a) Free delivery applies to orders over £125 excluding VAT delivered to a
business address throughout England, Wales and Lowland Scotland.

b) Orders under £125 excluding VAT are subject to a carriage and handling charge, please see Delivery page for details.

c) Deliveries to Scottish Highlands, Islands and Ireland are charged at cost.

d) Orders will be processed and dispatched by next day delivery service. Usually delivery times will be by the end of the next working day.

e) Notwithstanding delivery times quoted in d) above no guarantee as to time of delivery is given or implied.

f) The COMPANY is not responsible for any loss of profits arising from late or non-delivery of goods however caused.

g) In the event of damaged goods or part of the consignment missing, the carriers and the COMPANY must be notified within 48 hours of the delivery, if cartons are damaged they must be signed for as ‘damaged’, or the consignment rejected, otherwise claims cannot be accepted.

h) In the event of goods not being received within seven days of order, please contact the COMPANY.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

a) Orders are accepted subject to goods being available and unsold at the time of order.

b) CUSTOMERS will be contacted regarding any ‘out of stock’ items ordered.

c) No cancellation of goods already in transit can be accepted.  If the CUSTOMER should refuse these goods on arrival, the CUSTOMER will be responsible for the cost of two-way carriage and loss of any profit incurred in the resale of the goods.

d) Should any of the goods supplied by the COMPANY prove to be defective the CUSTOMER must notify the COMPANY within two days of receipt of the goods. The goods must be held by the CUSTOMER until such time as the CUSTOMER and the COMPANY mutually agree on either the return of the goods or a suitable credit.

e) The liability of the COMPANY in the case of defective goods shall be no greater than the invoiced price.

f) Goods cannot be returned for credit without prior agreement of the COMPANY.  Goods wrongly ordered and returned for exchange will be subject to a 10% handling charge plus cost of return carriage (if applicable).

g) The COMPANY reserve the right to improve specifications, update prices where necessary and withdraw any item from sale without notice.

h) Risk in goods shall pass to the CUSTOMER on delivery.

i) Title to the goods shall remain with the COMPANY until paid for in full and any cheques cleared.

j) All prices quoted are subject to VAT at the standard rate.

k) In the event of its trading terms being exceeded, the COMPANY reserve the right to charge interest on outstanding amounts at a rate of 8%  above bank base rate.

l) Current prices are displayed on this website and supersede any printed prices offered in published catalogues.

m) Due to the limitations of technology and individual screen settings colour reproduction of goods offered should be taken as a guide to the actual colour only.

n) All dimensions quoted on this website are approximate and should be taken as a guide only.
